9.6.2019 - CONGRATS ALEX (FIRST WEEK OF 8TH GRADE.)

Hi Alex,

Congrats on your 8th grade life journey.

Who loves you a hundred, million, billion times?

Love,

Dad.

Thoughts for Today

Lie: You can’t do anything right. You are a failure.

Truth: “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength”.   Philippians 4:13

Lie: No one loves you.

Truth: “Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, ‘For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.’) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord”.   Romans 8: 35–39

Lie: You are alone.

Truth: “He has said, “I WILL NEVER [under any circumstances] DESERT YOU [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], NOR WILL I FORSAKE or LET YOU DOWN or RELAX MY HOLD ON YOU [assuredly not]!’”

Hebrews 13:5

Lie: You are worthless.

Truth: “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed”.

Psalm 139:13-16

Lie: No one can help you.

Truth: “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble”.

Psalm 46:1

Lie: You have blown it now. God will never forgive you for that.

Truth: “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness”.   1 John 1:9

Lie: Your life is pointless.

Truth: “The LORD will work out his plans for my life—for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever”.   Psalm 138:8

Lie: You may as well give up. There is no hope.

Truth: “Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again—my Savior and my God!”.   Psalm 42:11
