11.23.2017 - Thanksgiving Day
HI ALEX,
DAD IS THINKING ABOUT YOU THIS THANKSGIVING.
THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
Remember when lies harass you, answer them with truth. Truth from God’s Word.
Lie: You can’t do anything right. You are a failure.
Truth: “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13 NLT).
Lie: No one loves you.
Truth: “Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, ‘For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.’) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
Lie: No one can help you.
Truth: “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble” (Psalm 46:1 NLT).
Lie: You have blown it now. God will never forgive you for that.
Truth: “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness” (1 John 1:9 NLT).
Lie: Your life is pointless.
Truth: “The LORD will work out his plans for my life--for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever” (Psalm 138:8 NLT).
Lie: You may as well give up. There is no hope.
Truth: “Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again--my Savior and my God!” (Psalm 42:11 NLT).
